Youth LTC

Business & Community Leadership

In partnership with New Market Skills Center (NMSC), Leadership Thurston County (LTC) was approved by OSPI (Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction) for LTC to have their own full summer school session called “Business & Community Leadership” that runs from June 23rd-July 15th at NMSC. 

Students will get a full LTC experience (15 days!) AND get a ½ elective credit for program completion.  Youth program days will be a combination of professional skill development and the community immersion days that reflect our adult leadership program. 

  1. Volunteer – chaperone, mock interviews, presenters, site visits, etc.
    1. Sign-up through the above link, noting your interest & availability.
  2. Sponsor-a-Student – three sponsorship levels.
    1. There will be no cost for students to participate.
    2. Commitment deadline of May 15th for printed materials.

Launched in 2024, our pilot year for our Youth LTC program featured a partnership with New Market Skills Center where LTC facilitated a one-day community & career immersion experience designed to enhance the  summer session curriculum of the career programs at NMSC.   11 days, 13 programs, 18 volunteer chaperones, 40 site visits, 50 sponsors.
